IT IS MANY MANY YEARS SINCE I'VE BEEN ICE FISHING
You either are a real fan of ice fishing, or like me once is not enough but twice is. Shacked up in a little shack no matter what conveniences they have, it can be a very long week-end. I don't know how people can do this for two weeks at a time.
Wind howling snow blowing and your cutting or sawing holes in the ice sometimes the ice is 3ft thick. You get 3 maybe 4 holes dug and then in goes the fishing line,then you stare at the hole and watch your line while you eat and drink. If your holes are outside the hut you need to keep them from freezeing over and have a marker from hole to hole in case a bad snow storm comes in. One thing sitting outside does wonders for your health but you need to be dressed very warm.
As you will see by the video the huts are very modern and some even have tv. It can be very dangerous with ice cracks. Last year my friend lost his father when the skidoo went through the ice on the way to the fish hut. Hope you enjoy the video and your thoughts on ice fishing would be appreciated.
